EDITORIAL

WELCOME – Sie halten die erste Ausgabe des CYNETART MAGAZINS in den Händen. Ein weiteres Magazin zum aktuellen Stand der Medienkultur – braucht es das? Wir meinen ja – denn gerade unsere feinteilige und verstreut kommunizierende Öffentlichkeit legt es nahe, den eigenen Standpunkt, die eigene Idee mit Herzblut und Verve nach außen zu tragen. Das Magazin zum anstehenden 14. CYNETART Festival für computergestützte Kunst will unserer gelebten elektronischen Bewusstseinskultur ein Bild geben und die Protagonisten des Festivals und der Trans-Media-Akademie Hellerau vorstellen. Medienkünstler verstehen sich zusehends als Seismographen und kritisch beobachtende Scouts für Trends und Lebensweisen innerhalb und mit Medien.

Wer die CYNETART in den letzten Jahren aufmerksam verfolgt hat, wird feststellen, dass auf dem Festival nicht weniger verhandelt wurde als grundsätzliche Fragen nach unserer raum-zeitlichen Wahrnehmung – und nach dem menschlichen Element dazwischen. Diesen Gedanken will das Magazin aufgreifen. Es stehen die Menschen im Vordergrund. Die Macher. Ihre Ideen, Denkansätze, Produktionsweisen und Erlebnisse.

Das CYNETART MAGAZIN richtet sich an die Protagonisten unserer Digital Culture. Nicht unbedingt an den blassen Geek, sondern an die junge Ingenieurin, die wir sonntags früh noch bei der After Hour im Club antreffen – und mit der wir am darauffolgenden Montagmorgen Fragen der Vorteile von vertikalen gegenüber horizontalen Flächen unter dem Einsatz von Fiducials besprechen. Es richtet sich an Menschen, geladen mit zehn, fünfzehn Jahren Technologie- und Interneterfahrung, mit der Lust am Media Hacking, dem Trieb nach elektronischer Tanzmusik, mit Sinn für Neuro-Enhancer-Lifestyle und Medienkunst-Jet-Set als Mittel der kulturellen Reflexion. Protagonisten einer gelebten kulturellen Verschiebung – von der bloßen Netzkultur in Richtung einer lust- und körperbezogenen Populärkultur.
