DIWO Circle

DIWO-Zirkel Großharthau is a project to promote the artistic creativity of children and young people in the municipalities of Großharthau, Bischofswerda and Großröhrsdorf to strengthen social interaction and civic engagement.

Duration: 01.01.2025 - 21.02.2026

In 2023, a new event format entitled ‘Klanginseln Schloßpark Großharthau’ was introduced for the first time in Großharthau Castle Park, which invited regional and international artists to an intensive joint creative process in the natural surroundings of Großharthau in order to offer participation opportunities for children and young people during the summer holidays as well as to implement site-specific works and installations for the castle park.

Cultural events in this form in the region have a unifying force between us guests and the local residents, between the committed participants and the visitors. They create added value in terms of artistic work and the promotion of artists, as well as mutual appreciation and exchange about creativity and art. Based on the experiences of 2023 and the given conditions with the Großharthau Castle Park, we see ideal conditions for establishing a sustainable and unifying project format for the community and the region using the media of light and sound in the form of sound installations.
