Post Mortem
Installation by Jannis Kreft ↲
CYNETART award Dresdner Stiftung Kunst & Kultur der Ostsächsischen Sparkasse Dresden 2010 ↲
The multi user media installation Post Mortem is about the interactive exploration of the 336 hours after death.
As soon as a user places his arm on the installati- on he is virtually dead and watches his body decay in realtime. The user can influence parameters, like time, humidity and temperature thus control how fast processes of decomposition takes place. The user experiences how insects grow within the body until the arm is fully skeletonized.
The virtually dead user can still interact with the environment at all times.
If the dead arm is moved the insects react to it.
